Abram Lansing Library
Welcome to the Abram Lansing Library site, a place
where students can research or search for resources.
Students must come to the school's library to take out a book or
request it from another Cohoes elementary school library or
within the Capital Region.
To request a book, students must provide the following
information to the librarian: title, author, call number, the
name of the school where the book is located, their name and
their teacher and grade level. A Library Loan Request Form is
available by
clicking here, or students can get a form at the school
library.

Who’s Who in Abram Lansing’s Library?
Carolyn McLoughlin, with 28 years experience in
the field of librarianship, has been the District Elementary

the three libraries she oversees the library staff, the general
operation of the library and teaches classes. Ms. McLoughlin can

The library aides keep the library open all week and are
responsible for the day-to-day operation of the library, as well
as handling book exchange for all classes. They are an
invaluable asset to the library program.

The A – Z Mystery Challenge for third through
fifth graders
Each elementary school has a complete set (26
books) of the A – Z Mysteries, a very popular series by Ron Roy.
The library is issuing a challenge to any third- through
fifth-grader to read all 26 books by the end of the May.
Students wishing to participate must pick up a bookmark in the
library with all the books listed. When they finish a book, they
must bring it into the library where library staff will ask them
a few questions about the book and will then initial the
bookmark. Students completing the challenge will receive
recognition at the end of the year.
For more information, visit the
A-Z Mystery Web site. The site includes information about
the author and other fun things! |
